Facebook Running Aggressive and Confusing Censorship

After Facebook finally managed to solve the bug leading to ban of the word “Palestinian” from page titles, it suddenly appeared to be not their only trouble. The news is that now people can’t use the last name "Arab" for opening accounts, because the system prevents them from doing so.

Recently, Professor Brynen from the Palestinian Refugee ResearchNet made an attempt to create a Facebook page for his group. Surprisingly, he found himself unable to do so, because the system prevented him from it by a rogue moderating process banning the word "Palestinian" from being used in page titles. After being notified about the trouble, Facebook fixed it and even apologized to Rex Brynen, explaining that they use an automated system, which is designed in such a way that it checks for inaccurate registration names. It happened so that for a short period of time, that system was inadvertently applied to Page creation names as well. Facebook moved to fix the bug immediately after getting an alert to this. It’s working properly now and the service apologized for inconveniences it has caused.

However, recently it happened that Facebook's troubles with Arabic names didn't end over there. Facebook's user faced the similar problem when tried to change her account to her married name – "Arab," which is actually a very common Palestinian last name. After the first attempt the service prevented her from doing so.

The interesting thing is that her husband did succeed in using his real last name back in 2007, when signing up for Facebook for the first time. However, after he changed his last name to Arabic script just for fun some time ago, he found himself unable to change it back to the Roman alphabet later. The couple’s family members have tried to sign up for the service and faced the same trouble. Those who try to set up dummy accounts using "Arab" for the last name also ran into exactly the same problem.

Most probably, the nature of the problem is the same as that of the word "Palestinian" – the reason is overzealous automated system. In spite of the fact that Facebook does have a record of passive-aggressive censorship, it can hardly be imagined to be involved in the business of preventing prospective consumers from registering. However, Arab family emailed Facebook a number of times, and still hasn’t got any response.

Of course, it wouldn’t be difficult for the company to fix this problem too, but it shouldn't have been a trouble in the first place.

# Log into your Hotmail account with your username and password.

# If you find a header with X-Originating-IP: followed by an IP address, that is the sender's IP address

* Hotmail headers : Daniel ,In this case the IP address of the sender is [68.34.60.59]. This is be the IP address of the sender.

# If you find a header with Received: from followed by a Gmail proxy like this

* Hotmail headers : Daniel
* Look for Received: from followed by IP address within square brackets[]. In this case, the IP address of the sender is [69.140.7.58].

# Or else if you have headers like this

* Look for Received: from followed by IP address within square brackets[].
In this case, the IP address of the sender is [61.83.145.129] .

# If you have multiple Received: from headers, eliminate the ones that have proxy.anyknownserver.com.

When you receive an email, you receive more than just the message. The email comes with headers that carry important information that can tell where the email was sent from and possibly who sent it. How to Prevent Spam Mails from Orkut!

I am sure that you usually get at least one spam mail a day from Orkut. 1. Change your Primary Mail

a) Log in to Orkut > Go To Edit Profile!
b) Click on Contact tab and change your Primary Email address to some other id, which you don't use much.

I have mentioned about way of Hacking orkut account password by orkut phishing in my previous orkut account hacking articles. I was asked by many readers about
how to hack orkut account password
by cookie stealing method. So, i thought of informing you about method of hacking orkut account password using cookie stealing method in this security article.



Note : This trick of hacking orkut account password is no more working, due to recent updates by orkut.com. I was asked by many readers about this way of hacking orkut account and hence informing you. Keeping knowledge of this way of hacking orkut account will help you in future.


Hacking orkut account password:

1. Get Firefox and then Cookie editor firefox addon.

2. Here, you should have 2 Orkut accounts (Yep !). One for sending cookie script to victim and other to receive victim's orkut cookies.

3. Javascript to be sent to victim for hacking orkut account password :

4. Now, replace the value in blue with your orkut album value. Right click on your photo and selecting Properties, you will get a 8-digit number (not available now due to recent fix by orkut.com) like say 55886645.jpg. Just replace "33444211"with "55886645" in above script.

5. The final script which you'll send to victim will look like :

7. You'll get his orkut account cookie in scrapbook. Now, go to your orkut homepage. Click Tools ->Cookie editor plugin. Now, click on Filter/ Refresh and look for "orkut_state". Double click it and replace this with victim script and put your eight digit number in place of "33444211".

8. Simply logout of your orkut account and login again. You'll be on victim homepage and hence, hacking orkut account...your aim of hacking orkut account completed.

So guys, this was the orkut hack used for

How To Copy Locked Photos From Orkut? Yes it’s still possible to copy the photos from Orkut.Here’s a step-by-step procedure to copy the photo.

1. Login into your Orkut Account.

2. Goto your friend’s album and open the photo that you need to copy.

3. Once the photo is loaded to it’s full size just place the mouse cursor on the photo.

4. Press the left click button and drag and drop the photo onto the ADDRESS BAR. I think this trick is no longer working. So I have a new trick….

Just DRAG and DROP the PHOTO onto the current/new TAB (If you have IE 7). Alternatively you can also Drag and Drop the photo onto the Desktop. That’s it. This trick is working now!! 4. Now the photo gets displayed seperately on your browser.

5. You can Right-Click and select the Save As option to save the photo onto your PC.

The browser also displays the direct link to the photo. This link can be used to share the Orkut photos with your friends without the need to login to your Orkut account to access photos.

Orkut is the most popular social networking website, next only to myspace. In the orkut

profile the user can only upload 12 photos. But now you can show unlimited number of
photos using the Flickr RSS Feed option. However you can do so also with the
feed of Picasa. Actually this method can be used for any
image hosting service which supports RSS photo-feed.

The process if very simple ::

• In your orkut profile, on the left site, click on “edit feedsâ€�.
• Now you will find a URL box, in which you have to enter the address of the RSS feed of your image hosting service like Flickr, Picasa etc.
• Make and find yours on your flickr home page.
• On Submitting and verifying the code, you will find your snaps on orkut.
